A chasing monster corrects its route the moment you change tile instead of running to where you were half a second ago. Chases are noticeably more persistent.
Fixed
Monsters can now reach you diagonally. Standing on a corner tile used to let you hit freely with no way for them to answer — running from a slower enemy meant damage without risk.
Monsters that strike from a distance, such as the Dragon, now cover their whole reach instead of just the middle of it. The corners are no longer safe.
A monster now closes in by the shortest route to a spot it can strike from, instead of taking an extra tile. It used to sidestep around you when a single step would already have brought you into reach.
Monsters no longer step onto stairs, holes or teleports, so they cannot block your way off a floor by standing on one. Rope tiles stay open to them as before.
