New
- The shortbow, longbow and crossbow now work as weapons. Each has its own reach (4, 6 and 5 tiles), so you can hit monsters before they reach you.
- Each shot spends one round from your ammunition slot. With an empty quiver the attack simply does not fire, and costs you nothing — no mana, no cooldown.
- You can see the shot travel: it flies from you to the target and deals its damage exactly when it lands, just like the missiles pupas spit. A missed arrow flies past the monster, so you can see it go wide.
- The crossbow shoots bolts and bows shoot arrows — you can no longer mix them up. Load the wrong kind and the game tells you, instead of quietly firing it anyway. For now a bolt looks like an arrow in flight.
- Bows and the crossbow are two-handed. You may hold one in either hand, but the other must be empty — equipping one puts whatever you were holding back in your backpack. With no room there, your weapons stay as they were and you are told why.
Changed
- The item tooltip now shows a weapon's attack range, what it fires and whether it needs both hands.
